Why we built it
Millions of people chant slokas they were never taught to understand. Translations exist, but they compress a whole verse into one sentence — the words themselves, their roots, their grammar, and the layers of meaning stay locked away, especially for speakers of Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam who are served last by English-first resources.Slokas opens the verse up: word by word, in your language, with a voice to chant along with.
How we treat accuracy
Analyses are generated with Google's Gemini AI and cached so a verse is explained consistently for everyone. AI can still make mistakes with rare words or unusual verse forms — we say so plainly, and we recommend verifying passages that matter to you against a traditional translation or a teacher. Known scripture verses carry a source attribution (for example, Bhagavad Gita 2.47) so you can look them up.
